Collected Works Bookstore & Coffeehouse

202 Galisteo St, Santa Fe, NM 87501

A charming independent bookstore and café—perfect for coffee, conversation, and browsing.

Doodlet’s

120 Don Gaspar Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87501

A Santa Fe classic for gifts, toys, and quirky finds. Doodlet’s is the kind of store where you walk in to buy a card and leave with something unexpected. In New Mexico we might call these treasures “chuchulukos,” little things you didn’t know you needed but suddenly can’t leave without.

Lucchese Bootmaker

128 W Palace Ave, Santa Fe, NM 87501

Lucchese makes some of the finest handmade boots in the world. Many years ago I bought a pair of deep red Lucchese boots and have worn them all over the world. They remain one of my favorite purchases. If you appreciate craftsmanship or just want a great Santa Fe souvenir, this shop is worth a visit.

Sun Mountain Trail

Sun Mountain Trailhead, Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87505

If you have time to get outside, Sun Mountain is one of my favorite quick hikes. It’s accessible, offers great views of Santa Fe, and is a wonderful way to experience the fresh mountain air and landscape that make Northern New Mexico so special.

Ten Thousand Waves

3451 Hyde Park Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87501

Nestled in the mountains just above Santa Fe, Ten Thousand Waves is a Japanese-inspired spa retreat that feels worlds away from the city, even though it’s only about 10 minutes from downtown. Guests can reserve private outdoor soaking tubs, enjoy massages, or relax in the serene mountain setting.
